Brazilian and Argentine Non-GMO soybean meal 46/48% protein CFR Jakarta, Surabaya and Belawan. Written for the three major Indonesian poultry integrators — Charoen Pokphand Indonesia, Japfa Comfeed, and Malindo Feedmill — and independent millers. GAFTA 100, DLC MT700, Panamax parcels.
Both 46% and 48% protein grades available. Indonesian integrators typically take Panamax parcels of 30,000–55,000 MT. Non-GMO election available with full segregation audit; conventional GMO meal quoted at USD 30–60/MT discount.
Indonesian imports of soybean meal require import permit (Persetujuan Impor) issued by the Ministry of Trade for annual volumes. Individual shipments load against the permit. Cycle: 45–55 days from signed SPA to discharge.
ICPO citing quantity, protein spec, discharge port, laycan, LC bank, and the buyer's import permit number.
FCO issued with Non-GMO segregation declaration if elected.
Signed CFR Jakarta (or Surabaya/Belawan). Import permit number embedded in field 45A of LC.
Pre-advice from Indonesian bank (Bank Mandiri, BNI, BCA typical) followed by operative MT700 confirmed by DBS Singapore or Standard Chartered.
Panamax loads at Santos, Paranaguá or Rosario. Phytosanitary certificate to Indonesian format issued at loadport. SGS attends for full spec verification.
Full document set to Indonesian bank. Discharge at Jakarta (Tanjung Priok), Surabaya (Tanjung Perak) or Belawan with C&F agent handling BPOM/Kementan clearance.
Indonesia imports approximately 5.5 million MT of soybean meal per year, driven by one of Southeast Asia's largest poultry industries. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia (CPIN), Japfa Comfeed, and Malindo Feedmill are the three integrated leaders taking the majority of Panamax parcels through Jakarta and Surabaya. Independent millers in North Sumatra (Belawan) and Central Java add substantial supplementary volume. Non-GMO segment is smaller than in Egypt but growing as premium egg and organic broiler production expands. Vanguard's corridor supports both origins (Brazil and Argentina) and both segregation elections, with FCO turnaround of 24 working hours.
Not for the FCO, but you cannot open an LC without the Persetujuan Impor from the Ministry of Trade. The permit is annual (not per-shipment), so most integrators already have current-year permits in hand. Provide the permit number at SPA signature so it can be embedded in field 45A of the LC.
Tanjung Priok (Jakarta) handles the majority of imports. Tanjung Perak (Surabaya) serves East Java integrators. Belawan (Medan) serves North Sumatra millers. All three handle Panamax comfortably. The desk quotes CFR to each port.
Bank Mandiri, BNI and BCA all handle Brazilian confirmations, typically routing through DBS Singapore or Standard Chartered Singapore. Confirmation clears within 48–72 hours in most cases.
Non-GMO commands USD 30–50/MT premium CFR Jakarta over conventional GMO meal. The premium is lower than in Egypt or Europe because the Indonesian Non-GMO segment is smaller. Most large integrators take conventional GMO meal for standard broiler formulation.
Yes. Argentine origin loading at Rosario is often USD 10–25/MT cheaper CFR Jakarta than Brazilian on comparable specification. Sailing time is roughly equivalent through Cape of Good Hope or Suez. The desk quotes both origins side-by-side on request.
Yes, with segregation in the same vessel and separate stowage plans. Small parcels (< 10,000 MT of one grade) are typically handled via container shipment instead of split-Panamax to preserve producer economics. The desk quotes container vs bulk based on the parcel size.
Provide your import permit number, protein spec, discharge port, and parcel size. FCO with segregation audit trail and CFR quote returns within 24 hours.
